Jonggajip Kimchi Jjigae Ramen is a conveniently packaged bowl of jjigae created by a brand that is very much NOT in the mainstream. Known less for their ramen, Jonggajip, is a popular brand of packaged kimchi products. If your mother-in-law or other Korean family and friends don’t feel like spending countless hours making kimchi from scratch, they might reach for some of their conveniently packaged kimchi to satisfy their cravings. Is it a good idea that Jonggajip has gotten into the ramen game? Well, I think they might be able to release a banger or two, IF they can manage to get their noodles right. We’ll see about that in tomorrow’s review, but what I can tell you is that I’m excited to have a company that is experienced making kimchi creating kimchi filled ramen. I have my hopes that the kimchi will be a cut above your typical ramen brands. Let’s jump right in today and make some appetizing kimchi jjigae ramen!

Step 1.) Partially open the lid and remove the two packets from inside

Step 2.) Add the powdered soup packet

Step 3.) Boil around 350ml (1 1/2 cups) of water and fill the cup up to the fill line

Step 4.) Close the lid and wait patiently for 4 minutes

Step 5.) Add the sauce packet

So far, so good with this cup of instant noodles! I really like that Jonggajip added a kimchi sauce packet that was full of nice, moist kimchi. I think it’ll improve the flavor over the freeze dried kimchi that you normally get in other ramen offerings. I’m stoked, because this ramen also smells, gooooood!

Have you ever tried kimchi jjigae before? What did you think of it? Could you start your day with jjigae everyday? Let me know in the comments!
