The reigning champion cup of noodles from the TV series “Pyeonseutoland,” Paldo’s Majangmyeon is a new cup of ramen, here in Korea, based on the Taiwanese street food, Ma Jiang Mian. Recently, I wrote a how-to guide and review for the fourth place winner in the series, Palae Tangmyeon. I’m excited to see why Majangmyeon was judged as superior. Maybe there is something unique or special about these noodles that Palae Tangmyeon just didn’t have… My expectations are set high for tomorrow’s review, but in the meantime, let’s make some noodles!
Step 1.) Open the lid and remove the liquid Majang sauce packet from inside
Step 2.) Boil some water and fill the cup up to the fill line
Step 3.) Close the lid and wait patiently for 4 minutes
Step 4.) Poke holes in the designated area for draining
Step 5.) Drain the liquid completely
Step 6.) Add the liquid Majang sauce packet
Step 7.) Mix and Enjoy!
I’m always surprised by how much extra time it takes to only poke holes in the cup and drain the liquid. Sometimes, I feel like I’m training to work in the pit for the “NASCAR of Instant Noodles Championship.” While I’m getting faster, those extra steps can either make or break whether or not I can get my snack in for the day. For now, I cannot recommend these noodles for convenience… Check back tomorrow for the full review.
Have you ever tried authentic Ma Jiang Mian (Majangmyeon)? Will you skip these noodles due to a peanut allergy? Let me know down in the comments!
