It’s been an incredibly artful week in my ramen series. First we had “Apeach” from Kakao Friends on a cup of ramen and now Samyang has come along with a character of their own. Looks like Samyang has taken a page out of Kakao Friends’ playbook (or vice versa?). Smart move… While the flavor isn’t nearly as avant-garde as what Kakao Friends did with their Vongole Ramen, a green chili pepper infused jjamppong does still sound appetizing. So for today’s how-to guide, we’re taking a look at Samyang’s Hot Pepper Jjamppong.

Step 1.) Remove the lid completely, as well as the 3 packets found inside

Step 2.) Pour the powdered soup packet on top of the uncooked noodles

Step 3.) Pour boiling water in the cup up to the fill line

Step 4.) Place the cup in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes (700 watts)

Step 5.) Remove the cup from the microwave and add the flavored oil

Step 6.) Add the dried packet of Cheongyang Gochu (Green Chili Peppers)

That’s all there is to it! Another microwaveable friendly cup of noodles that uses mixed cooking tactics. I’ll be back for the review tomorrow to see just how lethally spicy this cup of noodles truly is with its dried green chili pepper flakes.

Do you like the taste of red chilis or green chilis more? What do you think of the cute cat character on the label? Let me know in the comments.
