Famously created by a chef and produced by a small budding company, Wicked Ramen a.k.a Yogoe Ramyeon is one of the hottest new package of ramen on the block! Personally, I find the borderline occult or archaic logo design of the monster on the front to be right up my Pagan alley (Yeah, I’m weird like that.) The packaging really screams “Horned God” or some sort of masculine form of a deity. I never thought I would find something like this applied to ramen noodles, but I find the marketing direction fascinating and somewhat reinvigorating.

Now, you’re probably not going to be able to find these instant noodles from Wicked Ramen anywhere. My wife picked this up, along with a few others, from an event shop. However, you can find these online here in South Korea. These noodles aren’t exactly cheap either. You’re looking at a 20–30% markup in price compared to your average Samyang noodles. While this won’t break the bank, that’s a significant price leap in comparison.

For today, we’re going to be following these beautifully laid out instructions on the package as we create Wicked Ramen’s Vongole Flavor. If you’re one of the lucky few that happened to pick up these still quite rare instant noodles, here’s how you can go about making them!

Step 1.) Open the package and remove the ramen noodles and powdered soup packet from inside

Step 2.) Bring 450ml (2 cups) of water to a boil

Step 3.) Add both the ramen noodles and powdered soup packet to the pot (Optionally, the package suggests to add clams for a better flavor, but it’s a pain!)

Step 4.) Continue to boil for 3.5 minutes and mix occasionally

Step 5.) Enjoy!

Other than being absolutely decimated by the exploding package of powdered soup, these instant noodles were relatively easy to make using traditional cooking methods. As you can see from the final image, the powdered soup packet needs a bit of work, because it exploded all over myself and the kitchen. You can see the powdered residue still left behind on the pot from the aftermath!

What are your thoughts?

What do you think about the design of the packaging for Wicked Ramen? I quite like it. Is vongole one of your favorite flavors of ramen? Let me know in the comments!
