How to Prepare YouUs Omori Budae-jjigae Ramen

Back again with a completely different cup of Budae-jjigae ramen this time. This one is made by YouUs and is called, “Omori Budae-jjigae Ramen.” Clever name, right!? Straight to the point. I like it. Anyways, this one is a bit unique, because it provides a package of “fresh” or at least an un-dehydrated concentrated budae-jjigae sauce. I’m beginning to like these “fresh packets.” They sure are better than eating rehydrated ingredients like an astronaut circling the earth on the ISS. Astronauts are cool, but terrestrial mealtime still has astronauts’ meals beat by a parsec or two (Did I just use that correctly? Amazing!).

YouUs is slowly becoming a major player in the ramen world. They just keep pumping out new flavors all the time. I believe their manufacturer is Samyang, so I guess it makes sense that they have access to people who really know how to make their ramen. We’ll see how well this cup of budae-jjigae stacks up against previous cups of the same tomorrow. In the meantime, let’s make us some more army stew!

Step 1.) Partially open the lid and remove the two packets from inside

Step 2.) Add the powdered soup packet to the cup

Step 3.) Add the budae-jjigae sauce

Step 4.) Boil around 320ml (just over 1 1/3 cups) of water and fill the cup up to the fill line

Step 5.) Place the cup in the microwave and microwave at 700 watts for 3 minutes and 30 seconds

Step 6.) Mix and Enjoy!

A fairly simple cup of noodles to make, but it didn’t go off without a hitch for myself. I had some issues with the budae-jjigae sauce packet. It just didn’t tear properly and left my fingers sticky with delicious concentrated budae-jjigae sauce. Yum! In all seriousness though, it makes taking photos of ramen difficult. I hope your fingers don’t suffer the same fate as mine did! Other than that, no problems with this one at all.

Do you think hot dogs and sausages are the same thing? My wife seems to think so… but I disagree! Also, have you ever tried that freeze-dried astronaut ice cream? Let me know in the comments!
