Tom’s Farm Honey Butter Almond Review

The almonds that started it all! Tom’s Farm Honey Butter Almond was the package of nuts that propelled Tom’s Farm into the exosphere. I don’t think anyone really even knew they existed until the honey butter craze started.

Did you by chance know about Tom’s Farm prior to that time period? If so, let me know in the comment section below, because I sure didn’t!

Anyways, once this honey butter flavored package of nuts made it into the market, all of the creative flavors we know and love from Tom’s Farm started to line the shelves at stores here in South Korea. It was a bit of a slow ramp up over the years, but now we’re able to buy quite the collection of nuts. I don’t know how or why this whole honey butter idea infected literally every consumable item that humans could eat in this country or who started the craze for that matter, but it definitely produced some amazing almonds. Honey Butter Almond is super delicious. It might even be one of Tom’s Farm’s greatest flavors — an instant classic.

Packaging:

I reached for the tall and slender 30 gram (1.06 ounces) package again for today. This package contained the usual average of about 22 almonds. Once again, this package was also underweight, weighing in at a mere 29 grams out of 30 grams. Like I typically mention, this package makes for a travel friendly snack that’s easily pocketable.

The artwork on the cover is wonderful today. I’m really loving our almond friends as bees! They almost look like a creature that could possibly exist in our reality, if our shared reality was cuter and tastier than its current state. Our almond friends are very cute with their stripes, wings, and cheerful little bee faces. Butter takes the center in this image, which is perfectly in line with the flavor. Honey is the secondary element here, featured by a large hive that is actually a container or some sort. The color palette provides a good balance between the colors of honey and butter as well. When question I have though, do these almond bees build their hive structure with butter? I seriously want to know. What do you think?

Flavor:

Tom’s Farm Honey Butter Almond has an intensely buttery flavor. The outer coating is a dusting of honey butter flavoring, not a dense a candy coating like some of the other almonds. It’s actually surprising how intense the buttery flavor is when you think about how thin the outer coating is. I don’t know what kind of sorcery they are using over at Tom’s Farm, but this butter is explosive. The beginning notes of the flavor are fatty and delicious with a strong buttery taste. This flavor lingers in your mouth for quite a while, coating every crevasse, before breaking into a slightly sweet flavor that could possibly be honey, or maybe not… The sweetness is secondary and not nearly as detectable as the flavor of butter. Finally, the flavor rounds out into the sweet earthiness of almonds. One thing is for certain, the almonds pair well with the honey butter flavoring. It’s a winning combination that works well with most snacks. It’s really, really good.

Aroma:

These almonds have an ever so slightly sweet and buttery aroma about them. They smell so buttery that it’s almost like opening a fresh package of butter or sticking your face over some popcorn butter. The butter is without a doubt the strongest aroma found in this package of almonds. The honey sweetness is secondary. I can’t smell the almonds at all, because they are masked by the power of the butter.

Verdict:

I can see why these almonds from Tom’s Farm became such a hit. Honey Butter Almond is so tasty that I understand why these ignited or at least added fuel to the honey butter craze that exploded onto the market a few years ago. To be honest, without these almonds, I’m not sure we’d even be talking about Tom’s Farm right now. Creating these delicious almonds was an incredibly smart move and not only because they pair so well with the flavor of almonds. Butter and almonds are a match made in heaven or hell if we’re talking about your waistline. I suggest you definitely give these almonds a try to at least see where the almond craze all started, plus they are spectacularly delicious. You can’t go wrong with these. Young and old will enjoy these almonds all the same.
